May 8, 2025 – In a major advancement for architectural acoustics, our recent project highlights the application of custom 3D-shaped melamine sponge panels (see image). These panels integrate advanced melamine foam technology with precision digital fabrication to provide superior sound absorption and noise control in a variety of spaces.
Material Innovation: The panels are made from ultra-lightweight melamine foam (density 8–12 kg/m³) with a 99% open-cell structure, ensuring excellent dissipation of sound waves across a wide frequency range.
Precision Fabrication: CNC cutting allows complex geometric designs, including hexagonal and triangular patterns, to optimize acoustic performance for frequencies between 500 Hz and 4000 Hz.
Sustainability: The panels are formaldehyde-free, comply with GB/T 18883-2022 indoor air standards, and achieve a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.9+, providing both safety and performance.
Targeted Absorption: The 50mm thick base layer enhances low-frequency sound absorption, addressing challenges in large open spaces or auditoriums.
Aesthetic Integration: Panels can be customized with seamless color matching (RAL/Pantone) and feature flame-retardant surface treatments, combining function with visual appeal.
Modular Installation: Interlocking designs enable rapid deployment in various environments such as studios, symphony halls, and open-plan offices, while allowing future reconfiguration.
Shanghai Symphony Hall: Achieved a 2.3-second reduction in RT60, improving overall acoustic clarity.
Shenzhen Tech Park: Noted a 48% increase in speech intelligibility in collaborative workspaces.
